WHAT WE'RE NOT
Another VTT.A 200-field wiki."Still in beta since 2019."

Just the grimoire that runs your table.

Every tool a Dungeon Master needs — encounter runner, worldbuilding, a real soundboard, homebrew and printable cards — in one tab. Built to enhance the game you already play in person, not replace your table with a grid of webcams.

FROM EMPTY PAGE TO LIVE SESSION

Three steps. Tea still warm.

1

Open your grimoire

Sign up free — no card. Your first campaign is ready before the kettle finishes boiling.

2

Stock the shelves

Drop in Open5e monsters and SRD content, or homebrew your own NPCs, items and read-aloud in the Scriptorium.

3

Run the table

Launch the runner, cue the soundboard, and — radical idea — actually look your players in the eye.

ENCOUNTER RUNNER · LIVE

This isn't a screenshot.
It's the actual runner.

Initiative, HP, conditions, factions and mid-combat spawning — your players never see a loading spinner. Go on, knock something out:

TWELVE TOOLS, PRETENDING TO BE ONE APP

Each module could be someone's whole startup. They just happen to share a tab.

All the worldbuilding heft of the big wikis — minus the 45 minutes of filling in fields you'll never read again.

Encounter Runner

Initiative, HP, conditions, factions and mid-combat spawning. The TPK is on you; the bookkeeping is on us.

NOBODY ELSE HAS THIS

Card Forge

Printable MTG- and Tarot-style cards for NPCs, monsters, items and spells. You genuinely can't get this anywhere else — hand your players something real.

Scriptorium

A homebrew editor styled like the 2024 PHB — think Homebrewery, but it actually wants to help. Your terrible pun finally looks official.

Soundboard

A full ambience-and-effects board with Spotify integration — on par with tools people pay for on their own. It just happens to come bundled.

Atlas
Hierarchical locations — kingdom to tavern stool.
Calendars
Every big setting's calendar built in — or forge your own.
Quest & Factions
Track who owes whom, and who's plotting.
Illuminator
Prep battlegrid maps without the VTT baggage.
AI ON

Summon a tavern, a quest hook, a villain's monologue.

Generate NPCs, stat cards, item descriptions and read-aloud text in seconds — 1,500 credits a month on Pro. Handy when prep night runs short and the session is tomorrow.

TAP TO GO HAND-ROLLED
THE PLAYER PORTAL · ALWAYS FREE

Six months later. Five days in-game. One note that saves the session.

Your players can pin a note to everything — every NPC, location, item, quest and session. Two kinds: private notes only they see, and party notes the whole table shares.

So when you finally meet that witch again, they click People, scroll to her — it lists every NPC they've ever met — and there it is, in their own words.

THE SYSTEMS, NONE OF THE SPREADSHEETS

All the systems video games made you love. None of the clunk that makes them a slog at the table.

Crafting, quests, factions, reputation, downtime — RPGs trained us to expect them. At the table they usually mean sticky notes and forgotten subplots. The systems aren't the problem; the bookkeeping is. So we run the bookkeeping.

Workshop

Crafting & cooking with real recipes, components and downtime — tracked for you. Players forge the sword; you don't audit the inventory.

Quest Log

Every thread, who gave it and what's owed — so "wait, what were we doing?" stops eating the first twenty minutes of every session.

Faction Tracker

Reputation and rivalries that shift as the party meddles. The guild remembers what they did. So does the app.

Portrait Gallery

Every hero, NPC and villain gets original art in Grimoire's own painted style. A cast that actually looks like a grimoire — not a stack of grey placeholder tokens.

The point was never fewer systems. It was less paperwork between you and the story.

INVENTORY & ECONOMY, ON AUTOPILOT

Real coins. Self-sorting purses. A merchant who might be lying.

Hand an item to an NPC and let them sell it. Grimoire tracks every coin: players can only buy what they can afford, the item lands straight in their bag, and a sack of copper sorts its own change. What the item actually is? That's between you and your conscience.

BEFORE YOU ASK IN DISCORD

Questions a DM would actually ask.

Do my players have to pay?

No. Ever. The Player Portal is free for everyone at your table, no matter which plan you're on. You upgrade for DM superpowers; they just show up and play.

Is this a VTT?

No — and proudly so. Grimoire is built to enhance in-person (or voice) play. We're not trying to replace your table with a grid of webcams; we're trying to get you out from behind the screen.

Can I really turn the AI off?

Completely. One switch hides every AI feature — no nags, no “sprinkle of magic,” no asterisks. Same grimoire, fully hand-rolled, for the table that wants none of the current wave.

What do the 1,500 AI credits do?

On Pro, they power NPC generation, stat cards, read-aloud text, plot hooks and more — 1,500 a month. Plenty for prep night when the session's tomorrow. Don't want them? See the switch above.

Is it stuck in beta?

No (looking at you, certain large competitor). It's in active development with new features landing regularly — and it's fully usable today, not behind a someday-waitlist.

What content is included?

Open5e monsters and SRD content, free sound libraries and community material come built in. Everything that's free to us is free to you — and free to your players.

Will my homebrew look official?

The Scriptorium styles documents like the 2024 PHB — think Homebrewery, leveled up. Your cursed pun has never looked so legitimate.

Your players are already arguing about initiative.

Give them a DM who isn't fumbling through twelve tabs. Open your grimoire — free, no card, no beta waitlist.
